Lucknow, Dec 14 (UNI) Hearing a petition challenging the sealing of Metro City at Paper Mill in the Uttar Pradesh capital, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today directed that no construction in the area should be undertaken by the allotees.

Besides staying the construction, a bench comprising Justices A N Verma and S N Shukla directed the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) not to seal the main gate of the Metro City.

The orders were passed on a PIL filed by Upper India Kapoor Paper Mill Ltd Managing Director M Parekh.

The government and LDA counsel told the Court that notwithstanding court directions, the allotees were continuing the construction at the Metro City.

On December 7, the LDA had rejected the approved map of Metro City and sealed it.
