Gulf Dirt Track National Championship in Kolhapur on Dec 23

Kolhapur, Dec 14 (UNI) The fifth round of the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship for two-wheelers will be held here at the Merryweather Ground, Nagala Park on December 23.

The championship, organised by Sportscraft in association with Mohite's Racing Academy, Kolhapur, under the agies of Federation of Motor Sports Club of India, has been sponsored by Gulf Oil Corporation.

Addressing media persons here today Organising Committee members Shrikant Karane and Shivaji Mohite said that the best riders in the country will participate in the championship. They further said that a keen contest is on the cards in the foreign motorcycles upto 260 cc private class event in which Nashik's Shamim Khan (120) and Rustom Patel (113) are neck to neck in terms of points.

The winner will receive a prize money of Rs 2.5 lakh and the winners of each zonal round will get sum of Rs 85,000.
