Ahmedabad, Dec 14 (UNI) The BJP today termed the last-minute accusations hurled at the Narendra Modi Government by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram ''Hit and Run''.
BJP national spokesman Prakash Javadekar, speaking to reporters, said Mr Chidambaram's allegations against the Gujarat Government are ''hit and run'' allegations since Mr Chidambaram is aware that now there was no time left for the BJP to give a reply.
Responding to Mr Chidamram's accusation that Gujarat is stuck in a debt-trap with the debt rising from Rs 45,301 crore in 2001-02 to Rs 94,009 crore in 2007-08, Mr Javadekar said, ''The debt rise should be considered in comparisation to the rise in other states and during the past Congress rules in Gujarat.'' Countering the Union Finance Minister's claim that Gujarat's growth has been slower in comparison to other states, the BJP leader asked Mr Chidamram to come out with composite charts of all states, prepared on 25 yardsticks that range from farming to industrial to environmental developments. When such a comparison is made, the truth will be revealed, he said.
All allegations and accusations made by Mr Chidambaram are false and far from truth, and are aimed at misleading the people, Mr Javadekar claimed.
