Chennai, Dec 14 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) in Tamil Nadu today urged the State and the Centre to set up a 'Fact Finding Team' on the crisis faced by ethnic Tamils in Malaysia.

Talking to UNI here, CPI State Secretary D Pandian said ''the team should go to Malaysia and find out the 'real' situation faced by the ethnic Tamilians there.

''We receive two diametrical views about the current situation in Malaysia, which has to be examined by the team,'' he added.

When asked about his views on the current crisis in Malaysia, he said ''the Union Government has to express its view first and then it should instruct the Indian Ambassador in Malaysia to report on the situation.'' On reports of the proposed demolishing of Hindu Temples by the Malaysian Government, Mr Pandian said ''we heard all the Hindu temples, including one of Lord Muruga, is intact and untouched.'' He also pointed out the Malaysian Government had declared a national holiday for a Murugan festival, something which was not done in India.

''Either the Union Government or political parties should form the delegation and send it to Malaysia without any further delay,'' he added.
