Action to be taken on pasting of stickers: EC
Gandhinagar, Dec 14 (UNI) Taking a dim view of pasting of stickers or pamphlets on vehicles, the Chief Electoral Officer today hinted that action would be taken against candidates, pasting stickers on private vehicles.
''If the sticker is pasted with the written authority from the candidate, expenses incurred on the vehicle would be booked to the account of the candidate,'' EC sources said.
''In the event, if it is done without the written authority from the candidate, it should be examined whether Section 171 H of the IPC has been attracted, and if so, action would be taken under that Section, against the owner of the vehicle.'', the sources said.
The stickers, pasted on the vehicles without the knowledge of the owner of the vehicle, should be removed, the sources added.
