Wanted murderer of UP college Principal arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) The wanted accused who murdered the Principal of PGDAV College in Bulandshahar, Uttar Pradesh, last month has been arrested from Nizamuddin here, police said today.

On a tip-off that Lokender Singh (21), wanted in the murder of college Principal Chandra Prakash Gupta, was hiding in Nizamuddin area and would come to meet his friend near Rajdoot Hotel there, police laid a trap and nabbed him.

On interrogation, Lokendra revealed that the motive behind the murder was to avenge the rustication of two senior students by Gupta. Lokendra, along with two professors, a clerk, four senior students and the two rusticated students of the PGDAV College had hatched the conspiracy to kill the college principal.

Lokendra had stabbed Gupta to death while he was taking a morning walk on November 22 and fled to Delhi where he was staying in a PG accommodation in Jangpura.

UP police had been informed about Lokendra's arrest and further investigation was on, police said.
