Srinagar, Dec 13 (UNI) Security forces arrested three militants, averted a major tragedy and also unearthed a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official sources said.
Border Security Force (BSF) today foiled a major tragedy when they detected and defused a live grenade in north Kashmir, the sources said.
They said a Road Opening Party (ROP) of 51 battalion of BSF during a routine patrolling noticed a live hand grenade in the fields at Nasu Bandipora, about 55 km from here.
The area was immediately sealed and later the grenade was defused without causing any damage.
Security forces apprehended three militants from Tujjer Sharief in Sopore area of Baramulla district and seized a pistol, a magazine, five rounds and two hand grenades from their possession.
Security forces also unearthed a militant hideout in Rajouri district and recovered an AK rifles, two hand grenades, one detonator and 72 rounds from it, the sources added.
