Kolkata, Dec 13 (UNI) Tata Indicom has emerged as the fastest growing mobile service provider in the country with the subscriber base crossing the 21 million mark during the last fiscal, Tata Teleservices Limited Regional Head Sanjeev Khera said here today.
'' With a committed investment of Rs 36,000 crore (USD 7.5 billion) in Telecom during 2006-07, the company has a formidable presence across the telecom value chain,'' Mr Khera said.
''Tata Teleservices was the first to launch CDMA mobile services in India with the Andhra Pradesh circle. The company is growing at a rapid pace in the Kolkata circle and also making its presence felt in the rest of West Bengal circle with a combined subscriber base crossing the 1.58 million mark,'' he added.
He also said the company had entered the Limca Book of Records for establishing the maximum number of customer care outlets within a day.
''Our subscribers will witness the launch of various new attractive schemes and handsets from Tata Indicom in the near future, besides hassle free and uninterrupted calls with superior network,'' Mr Khera said.
The company also distributed prizes amongst its subscribers, who were selected through a lucky draw on the occasion. Leading Tollywood actor Koel Mullick gave away the prizes, including a Tata Indica DLS car, DVD players, microwave ovens, handycams and digital cameras.
