Sports Ministry announces cash award for Anand and Dola

New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Chess wizard Vishwanathan Anand and acclaimed archer Dola Banerjee have been felicitated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for their stupendous perfomance at the World stage this year.

The Ministry has announced a cash award of Rs 10 lakh each for both the sportsperson for making the nation proud by their achievement.

Anand had won the coveted World Chess Championship title in Mexico City in September 2007, while, Dola won the World Cup title ] in the Recurve Women's division in the World Archery Championship held in Dubai last month.
