One gets ten yrs rigorous imprisonment in rape case

Darbhanga, Dec 13 (UNI) A local District and Sessions court today awarded ten years rigorous imprisonment to a person in a rape case.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convict.

District and Sessions judge Vijay Kumar Srivastava found Ramdev Mahto, a native of Mabbi village under Sadar police station, guilty of physically abusing a minor girl and awarded him ten years rigorous imprisonment.

According to charges, the victim was raped by the convict on March 25,2001.

Subsequently an FIR was lodged by the victim at Sadar police station in the district.
