Light showers in Punjab, Amritsar coldest
Jalandhar, Dec 13 (UNI) The Holy City of Amritsar turned out to be coldest place in Punjab even as light showers lashed various places in the border state.
The minimum in Amritsar dropped to 7.7 degrees celsius turning it into the coldest place in the state.
Light showers lashed Jalandhar city this afternoon, leading to a fall in the temperatures.
According to a Defence spokesman, the minimum temperature recorded at Adampur airbase in Jalandhar district was 8.8 degrees, whereas at Halwara airbase in Ludhiana districtit was 8.9 degrees.
The minimum temperature in Pathankot hovered at around 11 degrees. At Bathinda, the minimum temperature recorded was 8 degrees. The minimum in the Union Terrritory of Chandigarh was 10 degrees.
The minimum temperature recorded in Ambala (Haryana) was 8.8 degrees.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded zeor degree temperature while at Udhampur it was 7.4 and at Jammu it hovered at 9.2 degrees celsius. The minimum at Leh was -12 degrees.
The Weather Office has predicted morning fog and overcast conditions in the region.
