Raigarh, December 13 (UNI) Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) has developed and rolled out HE 800 and HE 900, Asia's largest and heaviest beams at its integrated steel plant here in Chhattisgarh.
JSPL Executive Director P S Rana said the installed capacity of Rail and Universal beam mill (RUBM) was 0.75 million tonnes per annum, backed by state-of-the-art steel making facility.
He said these beams were used extensively in infrastructure installations such as flyovers, bridges, multi-storied buildings, industrial yards, airports and dams with special use in power plant projects.
Mr Rana said JSPL pioneered the production of medium and large size Hot Rolled Parallel Flange Beams (H-Beams), 120 meter rails and 3.5 mm wide plates in India.
JSPL has a state-of-the-art integrated steel manufacturing plant at Raigarh where H-beams are manufactured. Equipped with hi-tech machines, the plant boasts of world-class production facilities. The plant is installed with latest machinery to ensure an efficient production procedure.
JSPL Vice-President (RUBM) Sanjay Sharma informed that HE 800 and HE 900 heavy beams, developed at the plant, were the heaviest beams in Asia.
''Now our company has complete range of Beam, Column and Heavy Beam sections for its valuable customers'', he added.
Jindal Steel and Power Limited, part of the US $ 6 billion Jindal Organization, with an annual turnover of Rs. 3500 crore, is the largest private sector investor in Chhattisgarh with a total investment commitment of more than Rs 20,000 crore.
JSPL has plans to expand the operation and increase the steel production capacity to six million tonnes per annum with an additional investment of Rs 8000 crore. JSPL is also setting up a six million tonne steel plant in Orissa with an investment of Rs 13,500 crore and a six million tonne steel plant in Jharkhand with an investment of Rs 15,000 crore.
