Ranchi, Dec 13 (UNI) The four-day winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly will begin here tomorrow.
The assembly will also sit on Saturday despite it being a government holiday.
Speaker Alamgir Alam urged the MLAs to cooperate during the proceedings for smooth functioning of the House.
Mr Alam had to adjourn the House sine-die midway during the last session as the Opposition disrupted the proceedings, demanding reply from Chief Minister Madhu Koda regarding a scam concerning his close aide.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has convened a meeting of all the legislators later today to evolve a consensus for smooth functioning of the House.
He told reporters yesterday that he was planning to hold a seminar by mid-February next year, mainly aimed at educating the legislators about the conduct expected from them in the House.
Mr Alam said with the session's lenght getting reduced, the members should try to make most of the alloted time for the benefit of the people.
The Speaker's initiative to hold the meeting assumed significance as the BJP had already said that a no-confidence motion should be moved against the UPA-backed Madhu Koda governement during the session.
