FIR against teacher for thrashing student in J
Jammu, Dec 13 (UNI) Police today registered an FIR against a teacher for brutally thrashing a class eight student at the Army School, Nagrota, about 12 kms from here in Jammu and Kashmir.
One of the ear-drums of the student, as per medical examination report, got severely damaged due to the thrashing by the teacher, police sources told UNI.
Parents of the student, namely Shubham Manhas, had lodged an FIR against the Maths teacher, Mr Rajiv Bajaj, alleging that the latter had caused grievous ear injury to their son yesterday.
The incident had reportedly occurred after the teacher found some boys in a melee and intervened. ''He apparently found Shubham guilty of that post-recess time clash between the students yesterday and administered slaps,'' sources said.
However, the Army spokesman of Nagrota-based XVI Corps said they are probing the matter as the school authorities claim that no body from the student's side had approached them in this regard.
A case under section 325 of RPC was registered against the accused teacher at Nagrota Police Station.
