Mumbai, Dec 13 (UNI) Dr Rafiq Dossani, Senior Research Scholar, Stanford University, today released his book ''India Arriving'', which is based on the rapid economic development of the country and its impacts on the masses as a whole.
Launching the book here today, Dr Dossani said, ''India has started developing in the last couple of decades and the reasons for India's lack of development like population, health and lack of education are seen as assets now.'' He further added that since the two terms were contradictory, he wanted to go deep into it and the idea of the book was generated.
Dossani added that the rural sector in the country is in a very bad shape as the people feeding others are starving inspite of the government giving subsidies in power. He added that the urbanisation of rural areas should take place for the farm sectors to develop.
Speaking against the SEZ's Dossani said, the farmers should be given services and livelihood rather than SEZ's.
Dossani is a senior research scholar at Shorenstein at Stanford University and is responsible for developing and directing the South Asia initiative.
