Columbia Asia to provide medical care at B'lore Airport

Bangalore, Dec 13 (UNI) Columbia Asia Hospitals announced that they have been chosen by Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) as partners in providing medical care to travellers and other occupants of the new international airport which would be operational by April next year.

Columbia Asia would establish a 24X7 medical care facility and a pharmacy to handle the medical needs arising at the Airport. The facility would have the latest medical equipment, technology and expertise to handle routine outdoor medical care and stabilise emergencies.

In addition, Columbia Asia with its partners would provide total medical assistance in coordinating any mass casualty event or a disaster, according to a statement from the hospital.

Hospital Chairman Nandakumar Jairam said, ''In line with our commitment to provide 21st century healthcare, we have world class medical expertise, equipment and the ability to handle eventualities in case of mass casualty or disaster.'' BIAL CEO Albert Brunner said, ''BIAL has chosen Columbia Asia Hospitals after a comprehensive tender process. The Hospital has a proven track record of providing effective medical care facilities.

We are convinced that together we can cater to the passengers' medical needs as well as the disaster response services at the Airport. We look forward to a long term partnership with Columbia Asia''.
