BJP sets condition for Uma's return

Bhopal, Dec 13: Bharatiya Janshakti President Uma Bharti's return to BJP-fold will be considered only if she submits an application in this regard, party sources said today.

''The question of considering her return did not arise as the Sadhvi had not yet submitted any application'', party sources told to the sources. The sources, however, affirmed that Ms Bharti's spiritual Guru Pejawar Mutt Swami Vishwesh Teertha had expressed the desire that Ms Bharti should return to BJP-fold so that Hindutva forces were not divided.

However, the issue was not discussed at the recently-held BJP Parliamentary Board meeting or any other forum, as no application had been received from the Sadhvi in this regard.

''The issue of her return was debated only in media. The procedure is that such matters are discussed in the party only after an application is submitted,'' the sources said.

Besides, several senior party leaders were also opposed to her return, the sources added.
