Kolkata, Dec 13 (UNI) The West Bengal Government was looking into the complaints against the CRPF jawans, posted in Nandigram, and has drawn the attention of the competent authority, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee told the state Assembly today.
'' We have received a few complaints over the behaviour and activities of CRPF. While those complaints are being looked into, we have also drawn to it the attention of CRPF authority, '' he said in a statement.
Mr Bhattacharjee said the wife of a veteran freedom fighter Brojalal Das had alleged that some CRPF personnel had unnecessarily conducted a search operation in their house. A case on the basis of the complaint had been lodged with the Khejuri police station and the matter was under investigation.
The Chief Minister informed the House that patrolling and search operation at the joint initiative of CRPF and the state police was continuing in Nandigram.
As a result, so far 30 miscreants had been arrested. Besides, three rifles, six country guns, 642 rounds of bullets, 24 kg explosive materials, two country mines, 72 detonators, six components of pipe guns and different tools had been recovered, he said.
Mr Bhattacharjee said efforts were being maded arrest the culprits involved in the violent incidents in Nandigram.
