Srinagar, Dec 13 (UNI) Banking services in majority of State Bank of India (SBI) branches in the Kashmir valley were affected due to internet failure.

We have leased internet lines from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) which are not working properly for the past three days, a bank official in the main branch told UNI.

He said the system is very slow, affecting normal working in the branches.

He said bank authorities are trying to accommodate the customers.

He said the system is affected in Jammu also.

However, a number of customers alleged that they were refused cash by the banks in different branches to cheques. Banks have also refused to accept cash or make Demand Drafts, they alleged.

They said this is not for the first time that customers suffered due to system failure but in the past also banks refused cash to cheques or accept the cash.

The system failure has also affected anywhere banking and ATM services.

However, Jammu and Kashmir bank and other nationalised banks were functioning normally.
