Allowances for Group C,D railway employees
New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved introduction of hospital care allowance and patient care allowance for specified Group C and D (non-ministerial) Railway employees working in Railway hospitals and health units and clinics.
Briefing reporters on the Cabinet decision, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said the allowances will be applicable to employees working in Railway general hospitals and clinics having less than 30 beds, and super-speciality hospitals having less than 10 beds.
Hospital patient care allowance will be admissible at the rate of Rs 700 and Rs 695 a month to Group C and D employees, respectively, while patient care allowance will be admissible at the rate of Rs 690 a month for both categories.
Night duty allowance and risk allowance, if admissible to the two categories of staff identified, would cease to be admissible from the date of introduction of hospital patient care allowance.
''The orders in this regard would have prospective effect, form the 1st of the month in which orders are issued by the Ministry of Railways,'' Mr Dasmunsi said.
