Chennai, Dec 13 (UNI) Th Madras High court today dismissed a writ petition filed by the opposition AIADMK, seeking a direction to the DMK government to ensure that private buses were not diverted for the DMK youth conference, scheduled to be held in Tirunelveli on December 15 and 16.

The first bench comprising Chief Justice A P Shah and Justice V Ramasubramaniam dismissed the petition filed by former AIADMK Minister D Jayakumar at the admission stage itself, stating that it was at a premature stage and the court could not intervene and pass any order on assumption.

In the event of any violation, the petitioner could move the court later, the bench said.

Mr Jayakumar, MLA, submitted that the state government authorities were forcing private bus operators not to operate buses on regular routes and divert them to the conference venue for the benefit of party cadres.

This would cause great inconvenience to the people and student community in view of examinations and religious functions, he said.
