New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Congress Party today claimed that it would form the next government in Gujarat and the ruling BJP would be "voted into oblivion." "It is absolutely clear from the trend and the pattern of polling in the first phase of the poll yesterday that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be decisively voted out," AICC Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told mediapersons, while pointing out that her prediction was on the basis of the feedback from the party's own internal mechanism.

She said the pattern of the second phase of polling on December 16 would also be the same as the first phase.

"After December 23 (counting of votes), the people of Gujarat will get a truly secular government, which is not divisive and work for inclusive social and economic growth," she said.

Ms Natarajan said though BJP leader A B Vajpayee had issued an appeal to the electorate of Himachal Pradesh to vote for the BJP, he did not "ostentatiously" make the same appeal in Gujarat.

"This is a clear indication that Mr Vajpayee himself does not think that Mr Modi will win," she said.
