Midnapore, Dec 12 (UNI) Tapan Ghosh and Sukur Ali, the two prime accused in Chhoto Angaria case, were produced before the court of District and Sessions Judge Midnapur Abdul Kuddus today and were ordered to be reproduced before the Judge again on December 19 next when hearing of the case would start.
Both the accused after the incident in Chhoto Angaria on January 4,2001 were 'absconding' according to West Midnapore District Police.
The two along with 13 others were finally nabbed by Trinamool Congress activists near Egra in East Midnapore District, while ferrying 3 injured persons from Khejuri and Nandigram on November 10 last and handed them over to the police.
The bail petition of the accused prepared by the defence lawyers Ahin Addhya and Dhananjay Das could not be produced before the court today due to some technical faults.
The judge asked the defence lawyers to move the bail petition on December 19 for reconsideration. The accused has been charged under section 148, 149, 436, 302, 307, 102B of the IPC and 25 and 26 of Arms act.
Tapan Bose, CBI lawyer, told the reporters that CBI could not get their custody, due to some technical difficulties.
