Udupi, Karnataka, Dec 12 (UNI) Renowned Critic and Scholar L S Sheshagiri Rao today underscored the need for systematic and sustained development of Kannada language with systematic co-ordination between the institutions involved in the effort.
Speaking at the 'Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelan,' Prof Rao said sought proper planning and coordination in publication between Kannada University, Kannada Development Authority and Kannada Sahitya Parishad for development of the language.
He said committed efforts were required by both the government and universities to publish Kannada literature internationally.
Prof Rao urged the state government to sanction sufficient funds for libraries for taking up work on Kannada dictionary.
Stressing on the need for more exciting and imaginative children's literature in Kannada similar to English to attract young minds, he said there was a need to have an institution comprising child expert teachers, psychologists and artistes supported by the government to bring out healthy literary interest among children.
He also said it was the prime duty of the society to improve the conditions of our farmer's community who were the backbone of the nation.
