PFRDA elected member of Executive Committee of IOPS
New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS).
This will enable PFRDA to closely interact with other pension regulators on issues pertaining to best practices in the development and supervision of the pension sector.
A communication to this effect has been received by PFRDA from IOPS. The election was announced at the Annual General Meeting of IOPS, which was held in Beijing in China on November 14.
IOPS is an independent body representing international entities involved in the supervision and regulation of private pension arrangements.
IOPS has 60 members representing more than 40 countries having different types of pension and regulatory systems.
The main objective of the IOPS is to improve the quality and effectiveness of pension supervision and work closely with other international organisations involved in pension supervision and policy development.
