New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) Describing the Sheila Dikshit Government as ''one of the most corrupt'', Delhi BJP Chief Harshvardhan today called upon the people of Delhi to throw the present Congress Government out of power so that the capital may be made a good city worth living.
Addressing a press conference convened on the occasion of completion of nine years of the Sheila Dikshit Government, Dr Harshvardhan said Ms Sheila Dikshit, during her 3285 days rule, has made Delhi the capital of India as the most corrupt, polluted, heaven for criminals and rapists and hell for the common man.
''The people of Delhi are crying due to her despotic decisions and corruption in the Government machinery. They want to get rid of this misrule under any circumstances. The people have already indicated this in the MCD elections. The BJP will help the people in getting rid of the Dikshit Government in the Assembly elections,''he said.
Alleging that nine years of the Sheila Dikshit Government has witnessed bungling of over Rs 25000 crore, the Delhi BJP chief said,''the 12,500 crores power privatisation bungling, 800 crores water privatisation, 550 crores smart card scam, 500 crores computer purchase 1800 crores Yamuna cleaning scam, 10 thousand crores PDS, medicine purchase, education land, liquor, malls bungling etc. are on the lips of every Delhiites. Not a single bungling has been inquired into.
The involvement of CM office has been found in the Jhuggie plot bungling. Many constitutional institutions have recommended inquiry but the Chief Minister is silent because if inquiry is done then she will have to go to jail.'' ''When the Delhi Government is completely involved in corruption, how Delhi will become free from corruption in her rule,''he asked.
Dr Harsh Vardhan said the promises made by the Congress in its election manifesto have been forgotten just after it came to power. Delhi was not given the status of full statehood. Cow slaughter continues openly, he added.
''Central Government and Sheila Government have been misleading the people on the issues of unauthorised colonies, Blue Line buses, power and water supply and other important basic issues.
The announcement made for the rehabilitation of the people affected by sealing and demolition has not been implemented. Taxes are increasing and civic amenities are decreasing, he said.
