Murder accused kills undertrial in Lucknow jail

jail

this
morning.
A mentally ill Navrang, an accused in a murder case, killed his fellow inmate Omprakash, an undertrial of Bahriach, in the jail.
However, acting swiftly, the Lucknow district authorities have suspended three officials including the deputy jailor S P Verma, jail doctor Prem Prakash and constable Rammurti in connection with the incident.
District magistrate Chandrabhanu, who visited the jail along with SSP Akhil Kumar, announced a magisterial probe into the incident.
Navrang was said to been confined to a secluded cell two days back for his mental condition but on the advice of jail doctor he was put in the common cell yesterday.
Earlier one under trial Anjum was also killed in a mysteries circumstance in the the jail cell. DM Lucknow was also investigating into the killing.
This would be the second such case in the state capital the first being the one in which mentally deranged Vimlesh killed Rahul in the police lockup on December 2.
