Kerala HC directs CBI probe into black market sale of PDS wheat
Kochi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Kerala high court today directed the state government to entrust to the CBI a case regarding the sale of wheat, meant for the public distribution system in Idukki district, in the black market.
A division bench consisting of Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice K M Joseph made this direction while disposing of a public interest petition filed by one Amarjan P Rahim, who alleged that there was large-scale diversion of wheat meant for the PDS.
A case had been registered in this regard by the Punaloor police.
The court also directed that all procedural matters in connection with the handing over of the case to the CBI be completed within two months.
