DG Assam Rifles reviews Manipur situation

today
made
an
assesment
of
the
security
situation
and
development
projects
taken
up
for
the
troops
stationed
in
Manipur.
The DG will continue to meet security personnel till tomorrow, the PRO of AR said. Maj Gen B K Chengapa IGAR(South) had briefed him on the security situation and developmental projects being undertaken by the paramilitary forces in this insurgency-affected state.
The DGAR will be visiting Chandel, Chassed, Joupi, Sajik Tarnpak, Noney. He will visit Samtal in Chandel district, where troops were struggling to free the area from militantancy.
There were about 20 Assam Rifles Battalions deployed in the state to fight militants.
