CRPF committing atrocities on CPI(M) supporters: Mondal
Kolkata, Dec 12 (UNI) Alleging that CRPF jawans were committing ''atrocities'' on party supporters in Nandigram, CPI(M) legislator Robin Mondal today sought Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's intervention into the matter.
Raising a point of order in the House, Mr Mondal alleged that the CRPF had ''inhumanely'' harassed women and children, while conducting raids in Nandigram. He alleged that even a 90-year-old freedom fighter was also not spared.
''The people have also complained that three CRPF personnel are Trinamool Congress supporters,'' he said.
''It is a serious matter. The Chief minister should act against CRPF atrocities,'' he said.
Left Front Chief Whip Syed Md Masih said the Chief Minister would reply tomorrow to a call attention notice submitted by a CPI(M) legislator on the role of CRPF in Nandigram.
