Congress groups hurl bombs, nine injured in AP village
Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 12 (UNI) Nine people were injured when rival Congress groups hurled country bombs at each other over a dispute on construction of a tank near Alavalapadu village in Vempalli mandal of this district today.
Police said the groups hurled bombs when a panchayat meeting was on in the village. While six country bombs were exploded, seven bombs were recovered from the spot.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Police picked up 36 people, including rival group leaders Ram Reddy, Alavalapadu village Mandal Parishad Territorial Constitutency (MPTC) member and former MPTC member Ramanjuneya Reddy.
