Chhattisgarh Exp. to ply upto Korba as passenger train

Bilaspur, Dec 12 (UNI) The Bilaspur-Amritsar-Bilaspur Chhattisgarh Express will ply as a passenger train between Bilaspur and Gevra (Korba) stations from January 1.

South-East Central Railway spokesperson said under the new arrangement, operation of 360/361 Bilaspur-Gevra passenger train would be stopped and in its place, rake of Chhattisgarh Express will be run as passenger train.

The train will leave Bilaspur at 0735 hrs and crossing Champa at 0900 hours will reach Gevra at 1040 hrs. On its return journey, it will reach Gevra at 1110 hrs, Champa at 1235 hrs and reach Bilaspur at 1350 hrs before its onward journey to Amritsar.

For a long time, residents of Korba had been demanding extension of Chhattisgarh Express upto the mining town and had resorted to 'Rail Roko' agitation few months ago in support of their demand.
