Chennai, Dec 12 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition and AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today said the recent arrest of LTTE cadres in Tamil Nadu, vindicated her charge that terrorists have infiltrated into the state and the law and order has deteriorated.

In a statement here, she said the confessions made by the arrested LTTE cadres that they were hiding in Tamil Nadu and secretly carrying out their works, had shocked the entire country.

Whenever she warned the DMK government about the terrorists infiltration into the state and their anti-national acts in Tamil Nadu, she was ridiculed. But the arrest of LTTE men and their supporters vindicated her charge, she said.

''When I talked about the links between the LTTE and some political party leaders and the supports offered by them to the banned outfit, I was ridiculed as anti-Tamil,'' Ms Jayalalithaa said.

When Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Vanniyarasu was arrested on charges of supplying computer and boat spare parts to the LTTE, its leader Thol Thirumavalvan called on Chief Minsiter M Karunanidhi on October 10 and the same day Vanniyarasu was released on bail by a Magistrate court.

This clearly showed that the Chief Minister had directly offered support to the outlawed LTTE, Ms Jayalalithaa charged.

During the previous regime, law and order was maintained perfectly and all terrorists and extremists outfits were put in their places, but after the DMK came to power, an LTTE man had stayed in a policeman's house for nearly eight months, she claimed.

The infiltration of LTTE raised serious doubts whether the state had the intelligence bureau at all, she said and accused the DMK government of offering support to the LTTE.

''As long as the DMK is in power in Tamil Nadu, law and order will not improve and the state will become a haven for LTTE and pose a threat to the nation,'' she said adding that as the DMK government remained silent, the Centre should take stern action against the LTTE and save the country from danger.
