Adampur coldest place in North West plains

Jalandhar, Dec 12 (UNI) Adampur in Jalandhar district turned out to be the coldest place in the North West plains, as people in the region reeled under cold weather conditions as the sun played hide and seek in the region.

The minimum temperature at Adampur was recorded at 8 degrees celsius. The dense fog enveloped many areas in the morning, reducing the visibility to 300 metres in the region.

The Holy City of Amritsar was cold at 8.2 degrees. Halwara airbase in Ludhiana was cold at 8.2 degrees while the minimum in Pathankot hovered at around 10.6 degrees. At Bathinda, the minimum temperature was 9.4 degrees. Whereas minimum temperature at the Union Terrritory of Chandigarh recorded was 9.6 degrees.

The minimum temperature recorded in Ambala (Haryana) was 8.2 degrees.

In Jammu and Kashmir the Srinagar recorded the lowest temperature of -2.2 degrees while at Udhampur it was 6.8 and at Jammu, the minimum temperature hovered at 10.4 degrees celsius.

The Weather Office has predicted morning fog in the next 24 hours and clear sky during day.
