16-year-old girl wins Merrill Lynch competition
Mumbai, Dec 12 (UNI) Sixteen-year-old Anupama Sharma from Jaipur has won the first Merrill Lynch ''I Create NFTE National Entrepreneurship Competition 2007'' held here.
Anupama, a student of St Anselm's Pink-city School, presented a prize-winning business plan on a skin care product line that won her a cash award of Rs 25,000 and an all expenses paid trip to New York to attend the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship's International Entrepreneurship Programme, stated a release.
Chandrashekhar L of Adarsha Polytechnic from Bangalore, Karnataka won the second place for a business plan based on shoe care while Sudipta Mahapatra of Gokhale College, Kolkata and Aditi Alok of Kanoria College from Jaipur, Rajasthan shared the third position for basic accounting services.
Founded in 2000, I Create NFTE National Entrepreneurship programme is a non-profit organization which holds business plan competitions and entrepreneurship/financial education programmes created for high school students in India.
Its US partner, the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE, USA), is also a non-profit institute, the release added.
