Veeramani, Thirumavalavan arrested for agitating against Modi
Chennai, Dec 11 (UNI) Dravidar Kazhagam President K Veeramani, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi President Thol Thirumavalavan and about 200 DK volunteers were today arrested when they staged an agitation against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for justifying 'Kula Dharma'.
Police arrested Mr Veeramani and others when they attempted to burn copies of Mr Modi's book 'Karmayog', which justified 'Kula Dharma' and manual scavenging.
The agitators, led by Mr Veeramani, raised slogans against Mr Modi and demanded a ban on the book.
However, they were released after a few hours.
