Tamil problems can be solved through talks: Malaysian writers
Chennai, Dec 11 (UNI) A delegation of Tamil writers from Malaysia, who are on a two-week-long tour of Tamil Nadu, today said the issues confronting the Tamils in their country could be resolved through talks.
Talking to newspersons after the delegation called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the State Secretariat here, Malaysian Tamil Writers Association President P Rajendran said the problem prevailing in Malaysia could take place in any country where people of various faiths live and they could be resolved through talks.
Despite the fact that Islam was the state religion of Malaysia, people of other faiths have the right to follow their own religious practices.
Mr Rajendran said Tamils in Malaysia were safe and comfortable.
