Rehabilitate illicit liquor makers: CM to officials
Hyderabad, Dec 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the Excise and Prohibition Department to find alternative employement to rehabilitate residents of Dhoolpet, engaged in illicit liquor manufacturing, in the city.
In a release Dr Reddy said their rehabilitation could be taken up under the 'Rajiv Yuva Shakti' Programme.
Under the scheme, the Excise Department would provide 20 per cent subsidy in addition to the 20 per cent subsidy from government. The remaining 60 per cent could be obtained through bank loans.
He directed the Hyderabad District Collector to provide houses to people under the Weaker Section Housing Programme.
