Tikamgarh, MP, Dec 11 (UNI) Certain quarters are protesting against the district administration's proposal for live telecast of the December 14 vivahpanchami, vivahotsav and mahaarti at the 16th century Ramraja temple in Orchha.
Collector Vivek Porwal is hopeful that a solution will emerge at the next meeting of the temple management committee.
''Tenders have been invited but locals' concurrence is essential.
Such telecast takes place of programmes in shrines at Mathura and Ayodhya. Therefore, people should welcome it. At the committee's previous meeting, some people said such telecast went against tradition,'' he said.
The protestors said the administration should respect devotees' sentiments. Besides, the shrine's security would be compromised through such telecast as the temple, enjoying government security, has gold and silver ornaments studded with diamonds and pearls.
