Paddy worth Rs 1381 cr purchased by Haryana

Chandigarh, Dec 11 (UNI) The Haryana government has made payment of Rs 1381.06 crore to the farmers for the purchase of their 17.82 MTs of paddy so far out of total arrival of about 40.70 lakh MTs.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said HAFED had made the payment of Rs 557.34 crore for the purchase of 7.19 lakh MTs of paddy while Food and Supplies Department had procured 5.64 lakh MTs on payment of Rs 437.19 crore.

Similarly, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had disbursed a sum of Rs 173.10 crore to the farmers for the purchase of their 2.23 lakh MTs of paddy.

Mr Chander Mohan said Confed had made the payment of Rs 158.75 crore to the farmers for the purchase of 2.04 lakh MTs of paddy and Haryana Warehousing Corporation had purchased 60,179 MTs of paddy on payment of Rs 46.63 crore. Food Corporation of India had purchased 10,397 MTs on payment of Rs 8.05 crore.

He said that out of total arrival, 26.03 lakh MTs of paddy was leviable while 14.66 lakh MTs of paddy was non leviable.
