Patiala, Dec 11 (UNI) A local court has issued non-bailable warrant against Himachal Pradesh Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), B S Thind in a fraud land deal case here.
With the Rajpura lower court having issued non-bailable warrant yesterday against the controversial police officer, the issue was bound to find its way into the political arena in HP which goes to Assembly polls on December 19.
Thind is accused of cheating a US-based woman Pritpal Kaur of six acres of her prime land in Kharar town in Punjab using forged documents.
The officer is also facing other cases in various Punjab courts after the CBI found him involved in shady land deals around Chandigarh and in seeking loans worth millions of rupees from different banks by presenting forged documents.
The police officer, who was aspiring to become the Director General of Police in Himachal, was suspended by the state government last year after he was arrested by the CBI.
However, the suspension of Thind was revoked six months later.
