New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) A Delhi-based team of human rights activists, led by Dr N K Bhatacharya was today disallowed from entering and conducting the spot-study by the authorities into the alleged recent violent activities in the Dhinkia area, acquired by the Orissa government for Posco, a multinational company.

The team sponsored by Janhastakshep, a People's Intervention Group, Delhi, was on way to the area when the police obstructed them in Tirlochanpur of JagatSinghpur district of the state. The team also included another eminent human rights activist, Mr K R Chaudhary, among others.

Janhastakshep Convenor Dr Anoop Saraiya condemned the police action saying that the BJD led government in the state was acting in an "undemoctratic and fascist manner by denying the countrymen to know what exactly happended in the Posco acquired area after November 29 incidents".

In fact, the Naveen Patnaik government has adopted same strategy, like in Nandigram, to upstage the local protesters and tribals already opposing the acquiring of their cultivable land by Posco, Dr Saraiya said.
