Jammu, Dec 11 (UNI) Heavy security measures have been planned for the smooth conduct of the 87-Poonch-Haveli Constituency bypoll scheduled to be held tomorrow in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.
Sources said six companies of SKPA, 15 coy of CRPF, one coy of IRP, two coy of JKAP and three coy of STC had been deployed on security duties adding, ''405 personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police will also look after the 135 polling stations, besides 135 anganwari workers, who have been deployed for frisking of female voters.'' Meanwhile the election staff along with polling material has been dispatched to the polling stations in Poonch district.
''As many as 135 presiding officers and 540 polling officers including helpers alongwith 135 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been dispatched to the respective polling stations,'' sources told UNI.
The constituency had been divided into 13 sectors and four zones where 13 electoral Magistrates and four Zonal Magistrates had been deployed, they said adding, ''a total of 135 polling stations have been set up in the constituency where by-election will be held, of which, 42 are sensitive, 28 hyper sensitive and 65 normal.'' In all eight candidates are in the fray. The number of voters in the constituency is 96461, of which, 49551 are male and 46910 female.
