Una, Dec 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today criticised the BJP for launching a malicious poll campaign against him and his wife Pratibha Singh.
Addressing a public meeting at Gagret in support of state Industry Minister Kuldip Kumar, he said the BJP had dropped the level of canvassing in the state.
Mr Singh was reacting to advertisements in various newspapers wherein it had shown Mr Singh and his MP wife Pratibha Singh accepting bribes.
He said the allegations were being leveled to tarnish his image, adding that their party national president Rajnath Singh and senior leader LK Advani should remember that when you point a finger at someone else three fingers were pointed at them.
Defending himself and his wife, Mr Singh, during the 45 years of political career, the opposition has never been able to prove a single case of corruption against him.
He said former state chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had ordered a number of inquiries against him without failing to prove any thing against him.
The CM said, on the other hand, seven ministers and legislators of the previous BJP Government had leveled serious allegations of corruption against their own government.
The allegations still stand on which Mr Dhumal needs to clarify his position to the people of the state, he added.
Mr Singh said that the BJP had no agenda, either in the Center or in the state, besides dividing the people on the basis of caste, religion or region and level false allegations on their opponents.
