Narsinghpur, MP, Dec 11 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachouri has assured that the Centre would take no step that would hurt the majority community's sentiments.
''The Ram Setu case is sub judice and therefore I would not like about it,'' he told mediapersons on the Shridham Express yesterday in response to a query.
Mr Pachouri said that efforts were underway to make the United Progressive Alliance constituents concur on the 123 Indo-US Nuclear Agreement. Dismissing apprehension of the deal endangering internal security, he added that it would enhance power production and ensure adequate availability for farmers.
Referring to the Gujarat assembly hustings, Mr Pachouri said, ''the Bharatiya Janata Party is in dire straits there and the Congress will perform well.'' When asked whether he would assume the command for the Madhya Pradesh vidhan sabha elections scheduled next year, he claimed that he was not in the race for chief ministership.
Mr Pachouri was on the bi-weekly train that began its maiden trip to New Delhi from Jabalpur.
