Rajkot, Dec 11 (UNI) State Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala today criticised former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel for issuing advertisements in local newspapers, urging people to vote for change and remove ''autocratic'' leaders.

''People are not influenced by advertisements. They vote after seeing what the government has done,'' Mr Vala told newspersons after casting his vote here for Rajkot-II constituency, where he is contesting on a BJP ticket.

Coming out of the booth, he said Mr Patel's last minute newspaper ads would make no difference.

''The people will vote after knowing what the BJP has done in the past five years,'' he added.

''People are convinced that the Chief Minister gives no false promises,'' he said.

The advertisements had been issued by the Sardar Patel Utkarsh Samiti, in the name of the former Chief Minister, who has spearheaded the rebellion against Mr Modi.
