Work on NHs to be over by March, J'Khand Govt assures HC
Ranchi, Dec 10 (UNI) The Jharkhand Government today said repair and construction of all the National Highways would be completed in the state by March next year.
The state government's assurance came during a hearing on the issue in the Jharkhand High Court.
The court also directed the Centre and the state to file progress report in connection with the construction and repair work of the National Highways by January 3.
A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagayavinayagam and Justice D K Sinha, passed the order while hearing a PIL filed by one Handu Bhagat, a social worker, and others.
The state government today filed an affidavit before the court and informed that the construction and repair work of the National Highways was underway.
The state government issued work orders on November 2 and November 26.
Advocate General S B Gadodia contented that by March 31 next year, the repair and construction of all the National Highways in Jharkhand would be completed.
