Coimbatore, Dec 10 (UNI) Three AIADMK Legislators, including two former Ministers, today surrendered before a local court and got conditional bail in a case relating to the attack on a watchman of the Travellers Bungalow at Pongalur last month.

Surrendering before District Judge (incharge) Rajasekar, the three MLAs and 41 others involved in the case prayed for bail.

The Judge allowed their prayer by granting them bail on the condition that the trio should appear before the Sixth Judicial Magistrate Court here every Monday and sign the register and the remaining 41 people should appear before the Palladam court daily.

The prosecution case was that the AIADMK leaders Pollachi Jayaraman, S M Velusamy and S P Velumani, along with their followers, had staged an agitation on November one last, demanding that the State Government provide basic amenities at Pongalur in the district. Later, they had gone to the Travellers Bungalow to take rest.

When watchman Subramaniam told them that they could be provided rooms only after getting permission from his higher ups, a verbal duel ensued between them, in which the watchman was attacked.

On the basis of a complaint from the watchman, police had filed a case against 44 people, including the three MLAs.
