Rescue team of railways rushes to the spot

Kishanganj, Dec 9 (UNI) An unspecified number of passengers were feared injured when about seventeen bogies of the Delhi bound 4055 Brahmputra mail coming from Guwahati got derailed near Jalpaiguri under North East Frontier railways 80 km from here late tonight.

Railway sources said here that twelve bogies jumped the rail while five bogies fell into a ditch in between Rangapatti and Nizbari railway stations.

One bogie was damaged badly in the accident.

The sources said that medical team of the railways has been rushed to the spot.

Help line with number 0353-2691800 has been set up.

The accident took place at around 2315 hours.
