Pandemonium in Council, institution of false case against MLC

Patna, Dec 10 (UNI) The pre-lunch session of the Bihar Legislative Council was today adjourned 15 minutes ahead of its scheduled time following pandemonium in the house over institution of a fabricated case against RJD MLC Azad Gandhi by Patna district administration.

As the House assembled, RJD member Mudrika Singh Yadav raised the issue and demanded from the acting chairman Prof Arun Kumar to allow special debate on the matter through adjournment motion.

When the chairman ruled that debate would be held later, members from RJD, Congress, LJP and local bodies trooped into the well raising slogans against the high-handedness of the bureaucrats.

On the other hand, BJP member Giriraj Singh raised the issue of inhuman treatment meted out to labourers by the Union Rural Development Minister's elder brother in Vaishali district.

He also demanded dismissal of the minister from the union cabinet and immediate arrest of his brother.

Meanwhile, Congress member Mahachandra Prasad Singh said steps should be taken to check the trend of institution of false cases against the MLCs.
